I am a Professor in the Department of Mathematics Education at Loughborough University. I collaborate with colleagues, PhD students and project students to conduct research on mathematical thinking and learning in undergraduates and experts. I have written three research-informed books for undergraduates and one for a general audience. How to Think about Analysis has now been translated into Chinese as well as Japanese. From 2022 to 2025 I held a Leverhulme Research Fellowship studying logical reasoning in mathematics students. My new book, How to Think about Sets, Logic and Proof, will be published by OUP in late 2026 or early 2027.
